I came across Matt Chandler while I was listening to the podcast from the Reform and Resurge Conference that Mark Driscoll hosted earlier this year in Seattle. Matt's session was regarded as the highlight for many - and that's saying something since he was joined by the likes of Driscoll, Tim Keller, Ed Stetzer, Anthony Bradley, etc. You can (and should) listen to Matt's talk from RR here.
Anyway, Matt is the Lead Pastor at the Village Church in Dallas, a Baptist congregation that he has been leading since 2002 and has seen the entire culture of that church radically transform in four years. He's on my rotation of guys I listen to each week - I love his honesty, his brokenness, his passion for Christ and his faithfulness to the Scriptures. This is a guy no one's really talking about even though the growth of his church has been more steep than even Rob Bell's church - that will all change soon enough.
I can't encourage you enough to go over to the Village Church website and listen to a few of Matt's sermons - check out the August 13th sermon to get a taste of what Matt and his church are all about. They also have a podcast available that you should take advantage of.
