I taught an adult Sunday School class (Kingdom Works for Faith, B'ham folks) based in Chris Wright's Knowing Jesus Through the Old Testament. From a missional standpoint,it challenged me as much, if not more, than any other book I have read in the past few years. One of the main themes throughout the book is that God's redeemed people have ALWAYS (in OT and NT) had two main purposes: to worship Him and to be a blessing to the nations, namely through bringing Christ to the world. Sadly, that theme often does not sit very well (at least when it comes to fleshing it out) with most suburbanite Christians.
